The Intro Routine for Acne is The INKEY List's four-step starter kit for skin that breaks out but still needs water. The brand's thinking here is simple: clear congestion without stripping the skin, because dehydrated skin tends to make breakouts look worse, not better. Everything is full size, and the four steps are designed to run both morning and night.

What it actually does

• Takes the guesswork out of ordering. The pieces are chosen to work as a sequence, so you aren't trying to figure out which cleanser belongs with which treatment.
• Cleanses with salicylic acid. The first step is a salicylic cleanser rather than a basic face wash, so the exfoliating ingredient gets a turn at the pores before it rinses away.
• Keeps hydration in the plan. The hyaluronic acid serum is the brand's hero hydrator and sits right after cleansing — the kit treats moisture as part of acne care, not an afterthought.
• Spot-treats rather than blankets the face. The Succinic Acid treatment is applied directly onto a blemish, up to three times in a day, so the rest of your skin isn't being treated for a problem it doesn't have.
• Finishes light. Omega Water Cream closes the routine, keeping the last layer a water cream rather than something heavy.
• Works morning and night. The whole sequence is intended for AM and PM use, with SPF added as the final morning step.

How to use

1. Clean. Dampen face and neck, then massage in a raspberry-sized amount of the Salicylic Acid Cleanser for a full minute before rinsing well with water.
2. Hydrate. Press a few drops of the Hyaluronic Acid Serum over the same areas.
3. Treat. Squeeze a little Succinic Acid Treatment onto a clean fingertip and dab it straight onto the blemish. Repeat up to three times across the day as needed.
4. Moisturise. Finish with a blueberry-sized amount of Omega Water Cream, massaged into face and neck.
5. In the morning, add SPF last. Sunscreen goes on after the moisturiser, as the final step of the AM routine.

Are the products full size or samples?

Full size. You get the 150 ml cleanser, the 30 ml hyaluronic acid serum, the 30 ml succinic acid treatment and the 30 ml Omega Water Cream.

Do I use all four steps twice a day?

The routine is built for both morning and evening. The one thing that moves around is the succinic acid treatment, which is applied to individual blemishes up to three times daily, and SPF, which only belongs in the morning.

Is sunscreen included?

No — the kit contains the four steps listed above. The brand still asks you to finish the morning routine with an SPF, so you'll need one separately.

When will it arrive?

Delivery takes 3 to 21 working days, depending on availability. Sets already in stock ship fastest; if we need to bring the kit in, expect the upper end of the range. Weekends and official holidays don't count as working days.

What if a tube arrives broken?
