Hourglass Ambient™ Lighting Finishing Powder is the single-pan version of the collection — eight universal shades, each one built to imitate a particular quality of flattering light, from the cool wash of moonlight through to the warm flicker of candlelight. You pick the light you want your skin to be seen in, then dust it on as the last step.

What it actually does

• Shapes how light lands on skin. Hourglass's Photoluminescent Technology is designed to catch the light around you, diffuse it and soften it rather than simply mattifying.
• Gives you eight different results. The range is presented as a wardrobe of powders rather than one finish — you choose the effect instead of accepting a default.
• Sits as the final step over a finished base, which is where a finishing powder does its work on overall complexion rather than on coverage.
• Industry recognition: the brand notes it was named to the Vogue 100 Beauty Hall of Fame in 2016.

How to use

1. Finish your base first — foundation, concealer, cream products, all done.
2. Dust it over the whole face with the Ambient® Powder Brush as your closing step, which is the application Hourglass recommends.
3. Keep the hand light. A finishing powder is meant to adjust the light, not build a second layer of coverage.
4. Mix and match with other shades from the Ambient® Lighting Collection if you want to build a more specific effect across different areas of the face.

Which of the eight shades should I pick?

Think in terms of the light you want rather than matching your foundation — the shades are described as universal, and each one mimics a different type of flattering light, from moonlight to candlelight. Tell us your skin tone and whether you prefer a cooler or warmer finish and we will point you at the right one before you order.

Is it the same thing as the palette?

Same powder technology, different format. This is a single full pan in one shade; the Ambient™ Lighting Palette gathers three shades into one compact for mixing.

Do I still need a setting powder?

This is a finishing powder, so its job is the look of the skin at the end. If you have very oily areas that need locking down, set those zones with your usual powder first and then take this over the whole face.

How long does delivery take?

Delivery takes 3 to 21 working days, depending on availability. Shades in stock reach you at the short end of the range; shades we bring in for you take longer. Working days exclude weekends and official holidays.

How can I pay?

What if the pan arrives shattered?

Open it and check on the day it lands. Report defective, damaged or expired items within 1 day of delivery with a photo; once verified we refund to your original payment method within 15–30 days.
