AMBIENT™ STROBE LIGHTING POWDER

Hourglass Ambient™ Strobe Lighting Powder is a collection of strobing powders made to carve out the face with light. Instead of a single flat shine, the pearls are graded to build depth and dimension, which is why the finished highlight reads refined and natural rather than glittery.

What it actually does

• Luminescence without the metal. Hourglass suspends concentrated, ultra-fine micro-pearl particles in a sheer base, across several particle sizes and refraction levels, to avoid a heavy metallic cast.
• Reacts to the light around you. The brand's Photoluminescent Technology is described as capturing, diffusing and softening ambient light to refine how skin appears.
• One pan, two finishes. Dry gives you an everyday strobe; damp takes the same shade to a dramatic evening level of intensity.
• Shades meant for everyone. Hourglass positions the range as universally flattering across all skin tones.
• Stronger than the original Ambient powders. Per the brand, these hold more micro-pearl than the original Ambient Lighting Powders and sit on a sheerer base, so the highlight lands without masking the skin beneath.
• No parabens, cruelty-free. Both stated by Hourglass.

How to use

The brand pairs it with the Ambient Strobe Light Sculptor, sold separately.

1. For a soft, sheer glow: run the angled side of the Sculptor over the powder, place it on the tops of the cheekbones, the bridge of the nose and the cupid's bow, then smooth it out with the flocked side.
2. For a stronger glow: dampen the angled side first, pick up the powder, place it in the same three spots, and finish again with the flocked side.
3. Let the pan dry before closing it if you used it damp.

Do I need the Strobe Light Sculptor?

It's the applicator Hourglass designed for this powder and it's sold separately. You can apply the powder with your own brush, but the angled-plus-flocked combination is what the brand's own instructions assume.

How is it different from the original Ambient Lighting Powder?

Hourglass says the Strobe versions carry a higher concentration of micro-pearl in varied sizes and refraction levels, on a sheerer base. In practice that means a more focused highlight rather than an all-over soft-focus finish.
