Beautyblender® Nude Makeup Sponge

Beautyblender® Nude is the familiar edgeless sponge in a soft neutral tone. The brand created this colourway as a nod to natural-looking skin, and in practice the neutral shade makes it the obvious pick for base products in complexion colours — foundation and concealer especially.

What it actually does

• Leaves no edges or streaks. The shape has no flat sides to press lines into makeup, and Beautyblender credits the combination of that shape and their own foam for the clean finish.
• Keeps your product on your face. The aqua-activated™ foam roughly doubles when wet and takes in barely any makeup, so very little gets wasted inside the sponge.
• Soft and bouncy when damp. Wet, the material goes very soft and gives a smooth, even blend instead of a patchy one.
• Built for two jobs. Large rounded surface for covering ground fast; contoured tip for precision around the eyes and nose.
• Hand-finished in the USA, with non-toxic water-soluble dyes.

How to use

1. Wet it before each use. Hold it under water until it expands.
2. Squeeze the water out. Finish in a towel if it's still heavy.
3. Bounce the product in. Foundation, BB cream, powder or concealer — tap, don't smear.
4. Use the right end. Rounded base for cheeks and forehead, pointed tip for detail.
5. Cleanse after every use — the brand suggests their blendercleanser® — and replace the sponge roughly every three months.

Questions

Is it any different from the pink one?

The foam and the shape are the same. What changes is the colour: nude is a neutral hue that Beautyblender launched to celebrate natural-looking skin, and it's particularly suited to skin-toned base products.

Mine is losing a bit of colour when I wash it — is that normal?

Yes, and the brand says so openly. The dyes are water-soluble and non-toxic, so some colour can come out over the first washes — the comparison they use is new blue jeans. The loose dye leaves with the water when you squeeze it, and none of it transfers to skin.

Can I use it dry?

It isn't designed that way. The whole formula depends on water activating the foam — that's what makes it soft, doubles its size and stops it drinking your foundation.

When should I replace it?

Around every three months for the best bounce, and washing it after each use helps it hold up until then.

Delivery and payment?

Delivery takes 3 to 21 working days, depending on availability. Payment is by credit card, debit card, Instapay or mobile wallets; cash on delivery is not available.

What if it arrives damaged?

Let us know within 1 day of delivery with a photo. Returns are for defective, damaged or expired items only, with the refund going to your original payment method within 15–30 days.
