Drunk Elephant Beste™ No. 9 Jelly Cleanser is the once-a-day wash that takes everything off — makeup, sunscreen, excess oil, city grime — and leaves nothing behind. A lightweight gel that rinses completely clean, so skin feels soft instead of squeaky and stripped.
What it actually does
- Dissolves stubborn makeup and SPF. A stack of mild, coconut-derived surfactants rich in fatty acids creates a gentle lather that breaks down even long-wear makeup and sunscreen, while the brand says it supports a healthy-looking skin barrier.
- Cleans without stripping. The formula is balanced at pH 5.5 — close to skin's own — and made without SLS, fragrance, essential oils or silicones.
- Puts hydration back. Glycerin, a humectant your skin recognises, replaces the water that washing normally pulls out, and antioxidant-rich cantaloupe extract soothes and hydrates.
- Suits essentially everyone. Drunk Elephant lists it for normal, dry, combination and oily skin, with redness as a target concern. It's vegan and cruelty-free. In the brand's one-day consumer study of 106 people, 97% agreed it didn't irritate their skin.
How to use
- Dispense into your palm and massage over your face — wet or dry skin both work.
- Add a splash of water to work up the lather, then rinse thoroughly and pat dry.
- Use it nightly, or rotate it with your other cleansers.
- Brand tips: Drunk Elephant says you can skip your morning cleanse if you washed the night before, and suggests adding a few drops of their Virgin Marula Face Oil (sold separately) to boost its makeup-removing power.
Is it right for you?
Yes, if…
- Your skin is normal, dry, combination or oily — the brand lists all four
- Your current cleanser leaves your face tight or red
- You wear makeup or SPF daily and want one wash that removes both
- You prefer fragrance-free formulas
Think twice if…
- You want a treatment cleanser with acids or actives — this one is pure gentle cleansing
- You love a heavily scented, foaming-hard wash — this is deliberately mild and unscented
Questions
Will it remove a full face of makeup?
Yes — the surfactant blend is paired with makeup-dissolving emollients specifically to break down stubborn makeup, sunscreen and oil, then rinse away without residue.
Morning and night?
Night is the essential one. Drunk Elephant actually recommends skipping the morning cleanse entirely if you cleansed properly the evening before.
Is it okay for sensitive, redness-prone skin?
Redness is one of the brand's listed target concerns, and the formula avoids common triggers — no fragrance, essential oils, SLS or silicones — at a skin-friendly pH of 5.5.
How long does delivery take?

Payment and returns?
