The MAKE UP FOR EVER Double-Ended Eyeshadow Brush - 248 was developed with the brand's own makeup artists to pair with Artist Eyeshadow. One handle, two heads: a flat straight side for laying colour down and a wavy fluffy side for taking the edges off.

How to use

1. Dab and swipe with the flat end. Pick up eyeshadow and gently press it onto the part of the lid you want coloured, then swipe to even it out.
2. Flip to the fluffy end. Use small circular motions in the hollow of the lid, then go back and forth across it, until the edge disappears.
3. Build if you want more. Return to the flat side for a second layer of colour, then diffuse again.

Can I do a full eye look with only this brush?

For most everyday and medium-intensity looks, yes — the flat side places colour and the fluffy side blends it, which is the whole sequence. Very detailed work on the lash line or inner corner still benefits from a smaller tapered brush.

Does it only work with Artist Eyeshadow?

That is the formula it was co-created around, but the two head shapes are standard eyeshadow shapes — a flat packer and a fluffy blender — so they behave the same way with other pressed shadows.

How do I avoid mixing colours between the two ends?

Wipe the flat side on a tissue between shades. Because the fluffy side is only ever diffusing, it tends to stay cleaner than the packing side.
