HUDA BEAUTY Blush Filter Liquid Blush chases the look of a soft-focus photo filter using actual product. It's a light liquid carrying buildable pigment plus very finely milled micro-pearls, and it arrives with a peanut-shaped doe-foot that places the colour for you.

What it actually does

• Delivers glow with a blurred edge. The micro-pearls are milled fine enough to scatter light rather than glitter, which is where the soft-focus, filtered effect comes from.
• Buildable, so you decide the intensity. Three dots give a light flush; keep adding and the pigment reads high-impact. The finish is radiant throughout.
• Melts in instead of sitting on top. HUDA BEAUTY's claim is that the pigments blend into skin for a dimensional, long-lasting 'airblushed' result.
• Applicator doing real work. The peanut-shaped doe-foot is shaped to drop product exactly where you want it, which matters with a liquid that has this much pigment.
• Candy scent by design. The brand added a sweet scent to echo the shade names — good to know if fragrance in makeup bothers you.
• Formula exclusions. Made without parabens, phthalates, mineral oil, oxybenzone, hydroquinone, coal tar, retinyl palmitate, SLS and SLES sulfates, formaldehyde and formaldehyde-releasing agents, triclosan and triclocarban. Under one percent synthetic fragrance, and cruelty-free.

How to use

1. Place three dots of blush on the area you're targeting, using the doe-foot.
2. Blend with your fingertips until you reach a luminous finish.
3. Huda's ombré hack: start with three dots of the lighter shade at the centre of the cheek, add two dots of a deeper shade higher on the cheekbone, then blend with fingers.
4. For the full 'airblushed' effect, set with Easy Bake Loose Baking and Setting Powder, sold separately.

Why three dots and not one big one?

Three small dots spread across the cheek give you an even starting point. One large deposit of liquid pigment sets in a single spot and is much harder to even out. The brand's own instruction is three dots, then blend.

Does it make my cheeks sparkly?

No. The micro-pearls are finely milled, so you get a soft-focus glow rather than visible shimmer particles. That diffusion is what produces the filtered look.

Do I have to set it with powder?

It wears on its own. Setting with Easy Bake powder is HUDA BEAUTY's step for maximising the 'airblushed' finish, and that powder is bought separately.
