Brush No. 2 EYESHADOW BRUSH

MERIT Brush No. 2 is a double-ended eyeshadow brush: one fluffy head for spreading colour across the lid, one tapered head for working close to the lash line. MERIT built it alongside its Solo Shadow, but it handles any eye product you own.

What it actually does

• Two tools in one handle. The fluffy end diffuses and blends shade across the lid; the tapered end places colour precisely along the lash line.
• Controls how much product lands. MERIT describes the bristles as densely packed so they release just enough pigment at a time — which is what makes coverage buildable instead of patchy.
• Gentle on the eye area. The bristles are extra-soft and vegan, and the brand notes they suit sensitive skin.
• Pairs with Solo Shadow, works with anything. It was designed to complement MERIT's Solo Shadow (sold separately), but it's not limited to it.
• Made to be recycled. The handle is 100% recyclable aluminium, and it ships in MERIT's signature packaging, which the brand states is recyclable, reusable or compostable.

How to use

1. Pick up colour with the fluffy end and tap off the excess before it touches your eye.
2. Sweep across the lid in soft back-and-forth motions to spread the shade evenly and blur any hard edges.
3. Flip to the tapered end to press colour into the lash line, smudge a liner, or deepen the outer corner.
4. Build slowly. Two light layers look far better than one heavy one — that's the point of a brush that meters product.

Which end do I use for what?

The fluffy end is for spreading and softening shade over the lid. The tapered end is for detail: along the lash line, in the outer corner, or smudging a liner.

Can I use it with cream and liquid shadows?

Yes — MERIT says it works with any eye product, and the bristles are synthetic, which is generally the better choice for cream and liquid textures since they don't soak up formula.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

The brand specifically calls the bristles extra-soft and gentle on sensitive skin. Washing the brush regularly matters just as much — a clean brush is a kinder brush.

How do I clean it?

Wash with a mild cleanser and lukewarm water, reshape both heads with your fingers, and leave it to dry flat so water doesn't run into the aluminium handle.
