CALA Sweeten Up Your Lips is a three-piece lip care kit: a sugar-based scrub, a silicone scrubber to work it in, and a strawberry balm to finish. The idea is one short routine that cleans, exfoliates and then seals — done once or twice a week rather than daily.

What it actually does

• Buffs away flakes. The scrub is built on sucrose — ordinary sugar — suspended in emollient esters and wax, so it sloughs without the grittiness of a face exfoliant.
• Gives you a tool, not just a tube. The silicone scrubber is there to massage the product over the lips and, as CALA puts it, push the exfoliation along further than fingers would.
• Finishes with a sealing balm. The strawberry balm is a wax-and-oil formula designed to hydrate and shield the lips after you have rinsed the scrub off.
• Works as a prep step for lip colour. Smoother lips are the point of exfoliating before matte lipstick or liner, and this set covers both halves of that.
• Scented and lightly tinted. Both the scrub and balm are fragranced and carry may-contain colour lists, so expect some sheen or wash of colour rather than a clear formula.

How to use

1. Start with clean, fully dry lips. Damp lips will dilute the scrub.
2. Spread the scrub over the lips in a thin layer.
3. Massage with the silicone scrubber in gentle circles. No pressure needed — the sugar does the work.
4. Rinse the scrub away, then press on the strawberry balm to rehydrate and protect.
5. Keep it to once or twice a week. This is the schedule CALA recommends, and over-exfoliating lips is easy to do.

Can I swallow the scrub instead of rinsing?

No — the brand marks this as external use only, so rinse it off rather than licking it away. It is not a food product despite the sugar base.

How do I clean the silicone scrubber?

Rinse it under warm water after each use and let it dry fully before putting it away. Silicone does not absorb product, so it does not need anything stronger.

Is the balm tinted?

The ingredient list includes a may-contain group of lakes and iron oxides, which means a light wash of colour is possible depending on the batch. Treat it as a care balm first and any tint as a bonus.
