• Mugwort at 30%, up from the original. The increase was made specifically to strengthen the soothing effect. Mugwort has a long record in oriental medicine, and as a skincare ingredient Beauty of Joseon credits it with providing moisture and helping calm skin.
• Panthenol at 5%, up from 2%. It protects skin from external stimuli, and the higher level was chosen for better moisturisation and moisture-barrier care. Once absorbed it converts to vitamin B5, binds tightly to water and stops moisture escaping.

Is this a sunscreen or an after-sun product?

Neither, strictly. It is a serum formulated to relieve the discomfort that follows UV exposure and other external stressors. It does not provide sun protection — keep using your SPF.

What does panthenol actually do here?

It turns into vitamin B5 once absorbed, grips onto water and prevents it leaving the skin — which is how it keeps skin hydrated and forms the protective moisture layer the brand describes.

How much do I use?
