concealer buffer brush

The concealer buffer brush is the dense, small-headed brush that takes concealer from a visible patch to something you cannot see the edge of. Tarte built it for the dips and curves of the face — under the eyes, down the nose, chin and forehead.

What it actually does

• Buffs instead of wiping. The packed bristles work concealer into the skin in small circles, which is what Tarte calls an airbrushed effect.
• Reaches the awkward spots. It is sized for precise areas: the hollow under the eye, the bridge of the nose, the chin and the forehead.
• Keeps the contours intact. Because the head is dense and compact, product blends into the shape of the face rather than being flattened across it.
• Gentle where the skin is thin. Tarte describes the synthetic bristles as super-soft and kind to delicate skin.
• Vegan and cruelty-free, per Tarte.

How to use

1. Apply concealer to the skin first — dots under the eye, a line down the nose, a touch on chin and forehead.
2. Buff in small circular movements until the edges vanish, working outward from the heaviest point.
3. Keep the pressure light under the eye; the skin there needs less than you think.
