What it actually does

How to use

1. To apply: twist the slim barrel until the product appears, then apply. Wind it back down before you put the cap on.
2. To swap a shade: grip the gold applicator by its pointed end, take off the gold cap and draw the lipstick barrel out.
3. Prepare the new colour: take the black cap off the refill and pull its barrel firmly away from the cylindrical black base.
4. Store the old one: click the black cap back onto the base with the remaining lipstick inside.
5. Load it: holding that same pointed end, push the new refill into the opening until you feel it click.
6. Cap it every time you finish.

Do the refills fit this applicator?

Yes. Every shade in the Confession Ultra Slim refill range is made to click into the same gold applicator, so one case covers your whole collection. The refills are purchased on their own.

Will it feather around the lip line?

Hourglass states the formula wears without smudging or feathering. The slim tip also lets you place the outer edge deliberately, which helps.

Is it matte or glossy?

Neither — it sits in between, with a satin finish and a creamy feel.

What is it made without?

Parabens, sulfates and phthalates are all excluded, and Hourglass is a cruelty-free brand.
