No. Clinique's claim is an instant brightening of the area itself across all skin tones — a skincare effect rather than pigment coverage. Concealer can still go over the top.

What is the metal tip for?

It stays cool and is contoured to follow the under-eye curve, so gliding it back and forth massages puffiness while it dispenses the cream. Using your finger alone skips that part of the product.

Is it safe for sensitive eyes?

It is ophthalmologist and allergy tested and contains no fragrance, which helps. Note that Clinique lists it for normal, dry, combination and oily skin, so if your skin is highly reactive, introduce it slowly.
