What it actually does

• Shields at SPF 50, broad spectrum. A clean chemical filter system covers both UVA and UVB, and Supergoop! says the formula also guards against infrared radiation.
• Goes after blue light and pollution too. Wild butterfly ginger root extract is included to screen blue light and soften the visible fallout of free radicals; cress sprout extract is there to screen pollution and prop up the skin barrier.
• Stays undetectable. The brand describes it as universal — no shade to match, no cast to work around, which is why it suits every skin type on the list rather than one.
• Targets the ageing-related concerns on the label. Supergoop! lists fine lines and wrinkles, redness, and loss of firmness and elasticity as the concerns this one is formulated around.
• Won't block pores. The formula is non-comedogenic, so it can sit over a full routine without becoming the reason you break out.

How to use

1. Last step of skincare. Let your serums and moisturiser settle first, then lay this over the top.
2. Be generous and even. A thin, patchy layer does not give you SPF 50 — cover the whole face, including ears, hairline and the sides of the neck.
3. Wait 15 minutes before you head out into sun.
4. Top up every two hours outdoors, and immediately after 40 minutes in water or heavy sweat.
5. Pair or fly solo. Supergoop! suggests it can be your only SPF step, or the base layer under an SPF primer such as Unseen Sunscreen (bought separately).

Is this a chemical or a mineral sunscreen?

Chemical. Supergoop! describes the SPF 50 in this formula as a clean chemical filter covering UVA and UVB. If your preference is zinc oxide or titanium dioxide, look at the mineral options in the range instead.

Can I wear it under makeup?

Yes. It is a lightweight liquid that goes on after skincare, so makeup follows it. Supergoop! also notes you can layer it beneath an SPF primer if you use one — give it a couple of minutes to settle before foundation.

How often do I need to reapply?

At least once every two hours while you're exposed to sun, and again after 40 minutes of swimming or sweating — that's the water-resistance window for this formula.

How long does delivery take?
