Flush Balm CHEEK COLOR

MERIT Flush Balm is a cream cheek colour for the days you want to look flushed rather than made up. The pigment is ground fine enough to sit on skin without masking it, so your own texture still shows through the colour.

What it actually does

• Adds colour without hiding skin. MERIT uses microfine pigment powders so the balm tints your cheeks while leaving your natural skin texture visible underneath.
• Builds instead of committing. The formula is light enough to layer, which means you can go from a whisper of colour to something bolder with the same product.
• Leaves glow, not weight. The brand's claim is a long-wearing finish that never turns heavy or cakey on the cheek.
• Made to avoid pore-clogging ingredients. MERIT states the formula is put together without acne-triggering ingredients — worth knowing if cream blush usually breaks you out.
• Conditions while it wears. Vitamin E is included to look after the skin it sits on.
• Lower-impact packaging. The component uses 43% recycled plastic, and the outer packaging is recyclable, reusable or compostable according to the brand.

How to use

1. Apply over moisturiser or foundation, while your base still has a little slip.
2. Tap two or three short dabs onto the high point of each cheek.
3. Blend outwards with a fingertip or a soft brush, using light pressure so you don't lift your base.
4. Add a second layer only where you want more intensity. A touch on the eyelids or lips ties the look together.

Will it look greasy by midday?

The finish is a glow rather than a shine, and MERIT's claim is that it stays long-wearing without turning heavy. If your skin runs very oily, a light dust of translucent powder around the blush — not over it — keeps things in place.

Is it safe for breakout-prone skin?

MERIT formulates this one without ingredients known to trigger acne. That's a formulation choice, not a guarantee for every skin, so patch test on your jaw if you react to most cream products.

Can I wear it without any foundation?

Yes — that's arguably where it looks best. Because the microfine pigment doesn't cover your skin texture, bare skin plus a little of this reads as a real flush.
