What it actually does

• Hydrates and smooths with the toner. Beauty of Joseon formulates the Rice Milk with rice extract and rice amino acids, which the brand says sink in to hydrate skin that feels dry or rough to the touch.
• Handles shine without drying you out. The toner has two layers — one carrying moisture, one a powder the brand includes to keep sebum in check. Per Beauty of Joseon it also soothes sensitive skin and refines texture.
• Deep-cleans in a wash-off step. The Ground Rice and Honey Glow Mask uses upcycled lees left over from makgeolli, Korea's traditional rice wine, plus natural rice hull powder and 5% honey.

How to use

Glow Replenishing Rice Milk

1. Cleanse first, then tip a few drops into clean palms.
2. Press your palms to the face so the toner absorbs rather than evaporates.
3. Prefer a pad? Saturate a cotton pad and sweep outward from the middle of the face.

Brand tips: stack two or three thin layers when skin wants more moisture; use a soaked pad to lift away loose dead cells and sebum and look after pores; or rest a soaked pad on the skin for 5 to 10 minutes as a quick calming moisture mask.

Ground Rice and Honey Glow Mask

1. On a cleansed, dry face, spread an even layer.
2. Leave it 5 to 10 minutes.
3. Add lukewarm water and roll it off gently, then rinse.

What are makgeolli lees?

Makgeolli is traditional Korean rice wine, and the lees are the solids left behind after brewing. Beauty of Joseon upcycles them into the mask rather than discarding them.

How long do I leave the mask on?

In the kit instructions, 5 to 10 minutes on dry, freshly cleansed skin, then roll it off with lukewarm water.

How long does delivery take?
