HEARTLEAF 77% TONER PAD

Anua's Heartleaf 77% Toner Pad is a soaked pad that does two jobs in one swipe — it lifts away dead surface cells and leaves behind a layer of watery toner. The pads are embossed on one side for the exfoliating pass and smooth on the other, and the jar holds 160 ml of essence, so they are properly wet rather than barely damp.

What it actually does

• Exfoliates gently, daily. Anua positions this as daily exfoliation rather than a weekly treatment — the textured side sweeps dead cells off without acids doing the scrubbing.
• Targets blackheads and whiteheads. Clearing that surface build-up is what the brand links to fewer congested spots and breakouts.
• Handles pores and sebum. Pore care and sebum control are two of the three benefits Anua lists for the product.
• Hydrates while it works. The soaking liquid is a watery toner, so you are not left tight and stripped the way a dry exfoliating pad would.
• All skin types. Anua lists the pads as suitable across the board.
• Brand testing. Anua reports individual pore size down 51.0% and overall pore size down 49.8% over two weeks of use. Those are the brand's own test figures — results will vary.

How to use

1. Cleanse first, properly. The pads work on clean skin — any makeup or sunscreen left behind just gets pushed around.
2. Wipe with the textured side. Sweep the embossed surface across the face to take off dead cells. Keep the pressure light.
3. Pat the rest in. Press whatever liquid is left on the skin with your fingertips so it absorbs instead of evaporating.
4. Use morning and night. It slots in as your toner step in both routines.
5. Follow with the rest. Serum and moisturiser go on top as usual.

Can I really use these twice a day?

That is Anua's own instruction — they are built for the morning and evening routine. If your skin feels sensitised, drop to once a day and use the smooth side rather than the embossed one.

Which side do I use?

The embossed side is the one you wipe with for exfoliation. The smooth side is for pressing the remaining toner into the skin, or for a gentler pass on days your face feels reactive.

Do I still need a separate toner?

No — the pads are soaked in watery toner, so they replace that step rather than adding to it. Go straight to serum afterwards.

How should I store them?

Keep the lid firmly shut so the pads at the top don't dry out, and store the jar away from direct sun. Use the spatula or clean dry fingers rather than dipping wet hands in.
