Natasha Denona I NEED A ROSE LIP CRAYON is a matte lip pencil built around three rosy neutrals — Peony, Daphne and Calla. The brand describes the formula as creamy and waterproof, with a flexible feel that stays put instead of migrating. It comes from the same thinking as the house's I NEED A NUDE line, only tilted towards pink and rose-brown.

What it actually does

• Lines and fills with one pencil. Natasha Denona positions it as a matte liner with solid colour payoff, so it works as a liner and as the colour itself.
• Stays where you put it. The brand calls the formula waterproof and says it resists smudging and transfer.
• Keeps a sharp edge. The tip is made to be sharpened, which is what lets you draw a clean lip line rather than a soft approximation.
• Doesn't feel dry on. A blend of ester oils sits inside the matte base, which is the brand's answer to the usual trade-off between matte finish and comfort.

Which of the three shades should I pick?

Peony is the pink one, Daphne pulls mauve, and Calla is the brown-leaning rose. If you want something that works with most of your existing lipsticks, Calla is the easiest neutral of the three.

Can I wear it on its own?

Yes. It's pigmented enough to fill the entire lip, so you can skip lipstick entirely and keep the matte finish.

Will it dry my lips out?

Natasha Denona builds the pencil on silky ester oils specifically so a matte formula still feels wearable for hours. Lips vary, so if yours run very dry, a balm underneath is a sensible habit.
