REFY Lash Sculpt is a mascara that puts as much weight on the brush as on the formula. The applicator is curved and comb-like, with bristles of two different lengths, and its job is to catch each lash individually so the result is separated and lifted rather than clumped. REFY describes the outcome as a sculpted, lengthened lash with hold that lasts all day.

What it actually does

• Separates as it coats. The comb-style curved applicator targets lashes one at a time, which is how it lengthens without sticking them together.
• Lifts and holds. REFY's claim is an all-day lifted hold — the brush shapes, the waxes set.
• Shares its wax base with Brow Sculpt. The formula contains a duo of waxes also used in REFY's brow product, which the brand credits for sculpting and setting the lash in place.
• Non-transfer and pigmented. Both are brand-stated, along with a high-impact finish.
• Formulation type: lengthening, with long-wearing listed as the benefit.

How to use

1. Comb the applicator through your lashes from the root out to the tip — combing, not wiggling, is the technique this brush is built for.
2. Use the shorter bristles on your inner lashes and the longer bristles on the outer ones. That's REFY's own instruction and it's what makes the curved shape worth having.
3. When you're done, slide the curved applicator back into the tube at an angle, then screw the cap shut. Forcing it in straight is how curved wands get bent.

Why is the applicator curved?

The curve follows the shape of the lash line, so the comb reaches lashes across the whole eye in one sweep. The two bristle lengths are deliberate too: short for the inner corner, long for the outer.

Does it add volume?

Volume isn't what REFY sells it on. The formulation type is lengthening, and the effects named are sculpting, separating, lifting and lengthening. If bulk is your priority, look at a volumising formula instead.

Is it waterproof?

REFY calls the formula non-transfer and long-wearing, not waterproof. Expect it to stay off your lids and through a normal day; don't expect it to survive swimming.
