LIP BRUSH - 300

The MAKE UP FOR EVER Lip Brush - 300 is flat and squared off — a geometric head rather than the usual rounded tip. That straight edge is what gives you a controlled lip line, and the flat face behind it fills the rest in.

What it actually does

• Lines the lips with control. The squared geometric edge traces the lip contour cleanly, which is the difference between a defined mouth and a smudged one.
• Fills with the flat side. Turn the brush and the broad face covers the body of the lip with any lip product.
• Blends lip pencil. MAKE UP FOR EVER credits its flexibility with softening pencil, so you can either sharpen definition or quietly change the lip shape.
• Builds a long-wear base. The brand notes that same flexibility is used to blend their Aqua Lip pencils into a waterproof, long-lasting base layer.
• Doubles as a liner tool. Per the brand, the straight fine tip can draw lines with eyeliner for different graphic effects.
• Takes lipstick, pencil and gloss. Recommended textures are lipstick and gloss, and it works with lip pencils.

How to use

1. Outline on edge. Hold the brush so only the squared edge touches the skin and walk it along the lip border.
2. Fill flat. Lay the broad face down and work colour inward from the line you just drew.
3. Blend any pencil. Press lightly over a pencil line until the hard edge disappears into the colour.
4. Adjust the shape if you want. A slightly over- or under-drawn line, then blended with the same edge, changes the lip shape without looking drawn on.

Questions

Why a square head instead of a pointed one?

The geometric edge gives you a straight ruler to work against, so the contour comes out even on both sides. The flat side then does the filling — one brush, two functions.

Can I use it with gloss?

Yes — lipstick and gloss are both listed as recommended textures. Wipe gloss off the fibres promptly so they don't stiffen.

Can I really use it for eyeliner?

MAKE UP FOR EVER suggests it: the straight, fine tip can draw lines with eyeliner for a range of effects. If you do, keep it as a dedicated eye brush rather than moving back and forth between eyes and lips.

How long does delivery take?
