Supergoop! Lipscreen Shine SPF 40 is a clear lip gloss that happens to be sunscreen. It gives the slick, glowy finish of a proper gloss without the tackiness, protects against UVA and UVB at SPF 40, and has no flavour added — so it reads as a makeup step rather than a medicinal balm.

What it actually does

• Protects an area people forget. Supergoop! calls lips one of the most sun-sensitive spots on the body, and this covers them at SPF 40 across UVA and UVB.
• Reads as gloss, not sunscreen. The point of the formula is a sleek, glossy look you'd wear anyway — the protection comes along with it.
• Skips the stickiness. It's specifically built to be non-sticky, which is the usual reason glosses get wiped off after ten minutes.
• Keeps lips soft. The brand formulated it to help the delicate skin on the lips stay soft and moisturised rather than just coated.
• Layers over colour or stands alone. Put it on top of a lipstick for shine, or wear it bare as your only lip step.
• Clear, so nothing clashes. No tint means it works over any shade you already own.

How to use

1. Over lipstick: let your colour set, then sweep this across the centre and out to the corners.
2. On its own: apply to bare lips whenever you want shine plus protection.
3. Top up through the day, especially after eating and drinking — lip products wear off faster than anything else you apply.

How is this different from the balm-stick lip SPF?

This is a liquid gloss with a shiny, glowy finish at SPF 40; the stick is a solid balm with a natural, non-glossy finish at SPF 30. Pick by the finish you actually want to wear.

Will it make my lipstick slide?

It's a gloss, so it does add slip. Let your lip colour set fully first and apply this in one light sweep rather than working it back and forth.

Does it taste of anything?

No flavour is added to the formula, which is useful if sweet or minty lip products put you off reapplying.

How long does delivery take?

Delivery takes 3 to 21 working days, depending on availability. In-stock items arrive at the quicker end of that range; items brought in for your order take longer. Working days exclude weekends and official holidays.

How can I pay?

Can I return it?
