Mineral Mattescreen SPF 40

Supergoop! Mineral Mattescreen SPF 40 is a tinted mineral sunscreen for skin that goes shiny by midday. The tint is there to cut the white cast mineral filters usually leave, and the formula is made to mattify, smooth the look of skin and sit under makeup as a primer. What it actually does

• Mattifies as it protects. The formula is designed to mattify and smooth how skin looks, which is the reason to pick it over a dewy SPF.
• Keeps white cast down with a tint. Mineral filters tend to sit pale on skin; the tinted, blendable base is there to minimise that.
• Doubles as a primer. It is made to prep for makeup, so it slots in as the last skincare step before foundation.

How to use

1. Make it your final skincare step, applied before any makeup.
2. Spread generously and evenly, about a quarter of an hour before you go outside.

4. Top up every two hours at minimum, and again after 40 minutes of swimming or sweating.

Is the tint like a foundation?

No — the tint exists to keep the mineral filter from looking chalky, not to cover the skin. It is a sheer, blendable wash rather than coverage, so you can still wear your usual base over it.

Will it keep oil down all day?

It is formulated to mattify and smooth skin's appearance, and it avoids pore-clogging oils. On very oily skin in hot weather you will still want blotting paper or a powder as the day goes on.
