How is PHA different from a scrub?

A scrub works mechanically; PHA works chemically, loosening dead cells at the surface. It also acts as a humectant that draws in moisture, which a physical scrub doesn't do.

Can I use it before fake tan?

Yes — the brand's own tip is to use it through the week before tanning so the skin is smooth and evenly prepped, and again as the tan fades so it goes patchy less obviously.
