Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Powder Foundation is the pressed-powder sibling of the liquid everyone knows — a feather-light formula you can keep sheer or build right up. Fenty describes the coverage as medium with a soft matte finish, and it arrives in a compact with its own sponge, so it travels as easily as it wears.

What it actually does

How to use

1. Moisturise first. Powder sits better on skin that isn't thirsty.
2. Prime and let it set. Fenty recommends a Pro Filt'r primer (sold separately) and a short pause before powder goes on.
3. Press with the sponge. The included sponge is the fastest route to a blurred, buildable finish.
4. Or reach for a brush. The brand suggests the Powder Puff Setting Brush 170 for a lighter hand and the Kabuki Buff Brush for medium-to-full (both sold separately).
5. Remember the brush rule. Looser bristles = less coverage. Denser = more.

Is this the same shade number as my liquid Pro Filt'r?

The shade range is identical — 50 shades, same numbering. Fenty's guidance is to start at your usual number and be prepared to move one step lighter in the powder.

Can I wear it alone, without a liquid foundation?

Yes. It's a foundation in its own right, applied with the sponge or a brush. Wearing it over the liquid is simply the heavier-coverage option.

Will it look dry on my skin?

The finish is matte, so it's never going to read dewy. Moisturising beforehand and keeping the layers thin is what keeps it looking like skin rather than powder.
