How to use

1. Press, then sweep. Pat the flat of the paddle into product and lay it on the lid; sweep afterwards to even it out.
2. Take it up to the brow bone. One loaded pass covers lid and brow bone, which is the point of the larger size.
3. Blend with the broad face. Short back-and-forth strokes soften the boundary without losing the intensity you just built.
4. Use it off the eye if you want. As the brand suggests, the shape places powder, cream and water-based products accurately on other areas of the face and body.
5. Wash and dry flat. Mild cleanser, reshape the paddle between your fingers, dry lying down so water doesn't loosen the ferrule.

Which should I get — the 244 or the 228?

Pick the 244 if speed and coverage matter most: it's the larger, thicker paddle rated for moderate to high pay-off across the whole eye. Pick the 228 if you want the smaller rounded version with no sharp angles for smudging and tighter work. Many people end up using both, the 244 to lay colour and the 228 to work it in.

Will it be too big for detailed looks?

For fine crease work or liner, yes — that's not what it's built for. Its advantage is quick, even application over the full eyelid and brow bone. Keep a narrower shader or a liner brush alongside it for anything detailed.
