SoftSculpt® Bronzing & Shaping Serum does two jobs out of one bottle: a pump when you want warmth everywhere, a wand when you want to shape one area. The liquid is sheer and skin-like, so it warms up the complexion without reading as a bronzer stripe, and skin-tone enhancing pearls give the kind of glow that looks like light rather than product. MAKEUP BY MARIO also builds in hyaluronic acid and vitamin E, so it behaves more like a tinted skincare step than a flat pigment.

What it actually does

• Warms the whole face. Used through the pump, it gives a sunkissed wash of colour rather than placed contour — the fastest way to stop a base looking flat.
• Shapes where you want it. The wand applicator is the targeted tool: cheekbones, jaw, temples, the bridge of the nose.
• Blurs rather than defines. The brand describes a soft-blurred, healthy finish — this is not a hard-edged sculpting product.
• Hydrates while it tints. Hyaluronic acid handles hydration and vitamin E works as a nourishing antioxidant, which is why it sits comfortably on bare skin.
• Works with or without foundation. MAKEUP BY MARIO positions it as flexible — layer it over a base, or wear it alone on clean skin for a no-foundation day.
• Needs very little. The brand's own note: one to two layers is enough for the intended effect.

How to use

1. Shake the bottle well before you start — the pearls need redistributing.
2. For overall warmth, use the pump. Dispense and blend across the face; Mario recommends working it out with the F4 Brush, which is sold separately.
3. For sculpting, switch to the wand. Draw it onto the areas you want to bring forward or push back, then blend the edges out.
4. Stop at one or two layers. Building further is where the natural effect gets lost.
5. Wear it over foundation or on bare skin — both are intended uses.

What's the point of having both a pump and a wand?

They're two different jobs. The pump dispenses product for blending across the whole face when you want general warmth. The wand places colour precisely for the SoftSculpt shaping effect. Same formula, two levels of control.

Can I wear it without foundation?

Yes. The brand describes it as usable on bare skin or layered over foundation. On bare skin it reads as warmth rather than makeup, which is the appeal.

Will it look shimmery?

It contains skin-tone enhancing pearls, but their purpose is a natural sun-kissed glow rather than visible sparkle. Keep to one or two layers and it stays in glow territory.

How long does delivery take?

Delivery takes 3 to 21 working days, depending on availability. In-stock shades go out at the short end; sourced items take the longer end of the window.
