MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation is two products in one compact: a matte powder that delivers genuine foundation coverage. One sweep evens out the skin, blurs pores and shuts down shine — and MAC has engineered it to stay exactly where you put it through heat, sweat and camera flash.

What it actually does

• 12-hour wear, per MAC. The brand states it won't streak, cake or settle into lines across a full day of wear.
• Blurs pores on contact. MAC says the look of pores is softened the moment it goes on.
• Keeps oil in check. Shine control is rated at up to 8 hours — built with oily skin in mind, though the formula suits every skin type.
• The shade you apply is the shade that stays. MAC describes the colour as staying true for 12 hours.
• Built for real conditions. Resistant to sweat and humidity, photo-friendly, and formulated not to cause acne, according to the brand.

How to use

1. Prep first. Moisturise well before you reach for the compact — powder foundation performs best on hydrated skin.
2. Pick your tool for your coverage. A fluffy brush like MAC's 129S gives the classic finish; the 109S sheers it out for lighter days; the sponge in the compact builds the fullest coverage.
3. Care for the sponge. Swap it out every few weeks and keep it in the compartment beneath the powder, not sitting on top of it.
4. Optional finish. A light mist of MAC's Fix+ brings freshness back to a matte base.

Is this a setting powder or a foundation?

Both. It's designed to replace liquid foundation and powder in a single step — you don't need a separate base underneath. Use a light hand with a fluffy brush for sheer coverage, or the sponge when you want more.

Will it survive Egyptian summer?

It's one of the better candidates: MAC rates the formula as resistant to both sweat and humidity, with shine control for up to 8 hours and wear for up to 12.

Brush or sponge?

Brush for an everyday, lighter result; the included sponge when you want full coverage. If you use the sponge, replace it every few weeks and store it in the slot under the powder so it stays clean.
