The Retinol 0.3 Cream

The Retinol 0.3 Cream is COSRX's mid-strength step up — triple the retinol concentration of their 0.1 version, held in a formula built to keep that high dose stable. It's a rich, creamy texture aimed at smoothing rough skin, firming up slack areas and softening the lines that lighter retinols don't reach.

What it actually does

• Delivers 0.3% pure retinol. Three times the strength of COSRX's entry-level cream, and stabilised so the active stays intact.
• Works on deeper lines. The brand targets established wrinkles and fine lines rather than early prevention alone.
• Refines uneven texture and tone. Listed concerns include rough surface, patchy tone and visible pores.
• Supports elasticity. COSRX positions it for skin that has lost bounce, particularly more mature skin.
• Creamy, cushioned feel. The thicker base is part of the point — it carries the retinol while leaving skin feeling smoother.

How to use

1. Keep it cold. COSRX asks you to refrigerate it at 3–10°C, store it upright once opened, and start using it soon after you receive it.
2. Weeks 1–2: three nights a week. Begin with a small amount on the areas that concern you, then slowly widen both the frequency and the coverage.
3. Week 3 onwards: every other night. At this stage a pea-sized dose across the whole face is acceptable.
4. Wear sunscreen daily. Retinol makes skin more sun-reactive, so SPF is non-negotiable while you're using it.

Don't combine it with scrubs, peels or exfoliating acids — COSRX warns this can irritate the skin. Keep the cream away from heat and direct sun so the retinol stays fresh.

Why does it need to go in the fridge?

Retinol degrades with heat and light. COSRX specifies 3–10°C storage, upright, so the active stays potent for as long as you're working through the jar — which matters more in a hot climate.

Should I start with 0.1 instead?

If you've never used retinol, yes — the brand explicitly aims 0.3 at people who already know how their skin behaves on it. This is a step up, not a starting point.

Can I use my acid toner on the same night?

COSRX advises against pairing it with scrubs, peeling products or exfoliants because of the irritation risk. Move those to the nights you skip the retinol.
