What it actually does

• Takes down shine on contact. Hourglass states the powder has been clinically shown to reduce shine instantly, for a finish that holds all day.
• Mops up oil without drying you out. The brand describes a non-drying formula that absorbs excess oil while blurring how visible pores look.
• Sits weightlessly. It is built to set and perfect without adding noticeable texture, which is what lets it layer for touch-ups.
• Microspherical powders do the blurring. The same type used in Hourglass's Vanish Airbrush Concealer, which the brand names as its number-one bestseller. They soften imperfections rather than collecting in fine lines.
• Brand-reported consumer results. Hourglass cites that instantly, 100% of participants said shine was reduced and 100% said skin didn't look oily; after eight hours, 94% called it lightweight, comfortable and breathable all day and 90% said skin still didn't look oily or cakey. Self-reported figures from the brand's own study — your mileage will differ.
• Recycled-content packaging. The compact's plastic components use 100% post-consumer recycled plastic, and the outer carton is FSC-certified paper that is widely recyclable.

How to use

1. All over: dust it across the face with a powder brush.
2. Touch-ups: use the puff to pick up a little product and press it evenly into skin.
3. Shine zones: press the puff where oil shows most, layering where you want more coverage or longer wear.
4. Under the eyes: set with the Ambient Lighting Edit Brush, sold separately.

Note: pressing rather than sweeping is what keeps a touch-up from disturbing the makeup underneath.

Will it make dry skin look worse?

Hourglass specifies a non-drying formula, and the microspherical powders are chosen so they don't settle into fine lines. If your skin runs dry, keep it to the areas that actually shine rather than the whole face.

Does a brush or the puff work better?

Both, for different jobs. A powder brush is for the sheer all-over pass; the puff is for pressing extra product into oily patches and for touch-ups out of the house.

Does it have talc?

No. It is talc-free, and also free from parabens, phthalates and SLS/SLES sulfates, with less than one percent synthetic fragrance. The brand confirms it is cruelty-free.

How long does delivery take?

Payment and returns?
