What it actually does

• Shine without the stick. You get the mirror finish of a gloss, but YSL built the formula to be non-sticky, so hair doesn't catch on it.
• Holds moisture for up to 12 hours. That's the brand's figure, and hyaluronic acid is the ingredient doing the work.
• Softens and plumps the look of the lips. YSL describes lips appearing fuller, softer and juicier as the jelly texture melts in.
• Balm-level care, gloss-level colour. Vitamin E and mango oils sit alongside the pigment, which is why the brand files it as lipstick, gloss and lip treatment at once.
• Subtly scented. There's a light sweet fragrance to it.

How to use

1. Take the cap off and twist the base six clicks — that's one dose of product.
2. Glide it slowly across the lips so the glaze lays down evenly.

Why six clicks?

Can I wear it over lipstick?

Nothing stops you — it's a gloss, so a layer on top of a matte lipstick adds shine. On its own it gives sheer colour plus the balm-like hydration.
